I’m Martin, a photographer based in Oxford. I mostly photograph couples and portraits, and I’m interested in how people show up in front of the camera — whether that’s the connection between two people or the quieter presence of a single person. I like images that feel natural, calm, and unforced.
I got into photography through my grandfather’s old Polaroid camera. He always carried it with him when we went fishing, and I loved how those small instant photos could hold a moment so simply. That stayed with me. I spent years shooting on film, and over time I found a way of working that keeps that feeling while using digital cameras. I shoot with Fujifilm because I like the colours and the slightly cinematic look they give.
During a session, I don’t expect you to know how to pose. I’ll guide you when it’s useful, but most of the time I’m just paying attention and letting things happen. I’m not looking for perfection — I’m more interested in what feels real to you.
I’m based in Oxford, but I enjoy travelling and I’m available for portrait and couple sessions across the UK and Europe. If my work feels like something you’d connect with, I’d be happy to hear from you.
